I'm back!!!!!!!

Can you forgive me for all those days about those days without any posts? I mean, I obviously can't post something daily, but a month, at least for me is a little sad. So, to hopefully regain your trust, and to assure that am still writing, I'm changing the name of my blog. Same URL, www.joshuasiebers.blogspot.com, but the title is no longer going to be Josh Siebers , it's is going to be called The Hawk's Nest. The official change will happen Today, which is February 3rd. So, if you find this post after the weird change occurred, than hopefully you'll understand.
Now, if I ended it here, this would be a really short and boring update. Maybe you'd like to know why it is/will be called The Hawk's Nest. If you know, which would make a lot of sense if you don't, that my username for most of the video games that I play is HawkeyeJosh. With a few exceptions. I figured that the more games a begin to play, the more people know me as HawkeyeJosh.
I decided to go full force and rename the blog The Hawk's Nest. I don't really have an excuse for the major absence. So, hopefully you can understand. So, with all of the updates out of the way, I want to say that the Super Bowl this year was horrible. The Broncos really lost it. Don't even get me started with the Bruno Mars Halftime show. I have seen a lot better. There is always next year though.

Happy Anniversary to Me (or, well, the blog)!

I am so excited. These past 365 days have been amazing. I never would have expected to come this far. Wait, wait, let me back up.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JOSH SIEBERS!

Today marks the 1 year anniversary or birthday of this blog. over the past year, 3,751 people or so have enjoyed my blog enough to comment, come back, or read more multiple posts. The very first post that I posted was today. It was the very beginning of this blog.

Hi, welcome to my blog. My name is Joshua Siebers but my friends just call me Josh. I have a YouTube channel. It isn't super popular and I never said it had to be. I only posted one video so far on my channel. It's just a Pixar short. but most of my subscribers subscribe because of the feed. I like, comment, add stuff to playlists and reply to comments all the time. Currently I've been watching a lot of Smosh and CaptainSparklez but if you don't like that I still watch music parodies and other comedic stuff. so please subscribe to me, you may not care what I post but if you like this blog, than it would mean a lot.

What will I be posting on this blog? Help me decide, I have a short list of a few mini reviews, some open discussions I want to cover but leave a comment on stuff you think I should do. Maybe I'll highlight some viral videos, give my opinion about them I.D.K, so help me brainstorm. Wow that was a long sentence **pant pant**

Some topics I like to blog about are movies, (the future for movies, good movies, etc.) anything comicy, and stuff like that. Don't think I am an inexperienced blogger, I've been blogging for a while, this blog is relatively new.

thanks for the support :)

Josh Siebers

I Hope that over the year, I have changed as a writer, hopefully for the better.

Some of my favorite comments from 2013 were mostly from anonymous people but they still are really inspirational.

I really hope that I can grow even more as a writer in the next year and that more people will come to enjoy my content, and that the people who already do, will continue to.

Thanks a whole bunch.

Smartphone Status: 2014 Smartphones and iPhone Air?

Christmas came and went. Hopefully you had a good Christmas or Hanukkah or Kwanzaa or anything else that I forgot. Is it just me, or did 2013 fly? Some years just feel faster than others. So, if 2013 is almost gone, then that obviously means 2014 on the horizon. What does this mean for smartphones? In 2013 we had the iPhone 5, 5s and 5c, the HTC One, and an unnecessary number of Samsung smartphones. Of coarse, there are hundreds more, these are just a few. There have been a bunch more tablets too. Some of the best selling were the iPad mini and iPad mini with Retina display, the Surface 2 and Surface 2 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab and Mega. Right now, the main tablets that's getting all the love and attention is the iPad Air. Hmmm. I wonder where Apple got the idea for that? (Hint, hint, the MacBook Air). The tablet is really nice and is true to its name. Apple really likes their products that are "light as air". Nobody saw that coming.  I think it is fairly accurate to say that Apple will have another Air product within the near future. Maybe, an iPhone Air. I personally think this is the dumbest idea ever, but people seem to be talking about it a lot. I think Apple would be smart enough not to make an iPhone with that name. Then again, they did make 3 iPhone 5's so who knows.
The iPhone Air isn't the only rumored smartphone of 2014. There are at least a dozen. Another one of my favorites is the HTC Two. We know that there will be follow up smartphone from HTC, but no one knows what it will be called. The HTC 2 would be really stupid. It will probably  be called something with a bunch of random letters and numbers. Once again, everyone has been calling it the HTC Two. I'll give everyone who thinks that 10 bucks if it's called that. And considering how many people actually think that it will be called the HTC 2, I won't be able to give even half that many people 10 dollars. So, I can't make that promise.

What We Want From iOS 8... And What we Don't Want

iOS 7 wasn't the greatest success. I like it, but my opinion doesn't matter to Apple. They have plenty of other things to worry about. Like, for example, iPhone 6, or iPad mini 3, or the iWatch, (ahem, Apple, I'm talking to you) or maybe even the much anticipated iOS 8. Android 4.2 is on the horizon, Android needs to have something to compete with. So, I made a list of things that I want to see in iOS 8, if that's what they decide to call the new operating system.
  •  Which leads me to my first point. iOS needs a new name. iOs 4, 5, 6, and now 7 are all numbers. They should get creative with they're names. Like the Mac operating systems. They were all named after cats. Mountain Lion, Panther, Jackal, etc. At least until OS X Mavericks came along and ruined it all. I can't blame them though, eventually they were going to run out of cats, unless they revert to 'OS Tabby' or "OS Hairless'. Apple would really get some crap for that. I don't really have any suggestions to call the future operating systems. As long as they don't do roman numerals or dogs. The last thing we need is in 20 years to have iOS XL. So, my first word of advice is to make the iOS names more interesting.
  •  Secondly, I would like to see or in this case feel, a new way to access things. On an iOS 7 iPad I'm always opening the search bar when I want to check my notifications and vice versa. I find the accessing controls messed up. i don't know if iOS should switch to voice controls, or just make everything accessible through the command bar that is featured in iOS 7. My second word of advice regarding future iOS updates is to make the controls more user friendly.
  •  Let's talk a little deeper. As an iOS 7 user, and knowing many other iOS users, it's sad to say that the future iOS's need to improve their stability. iOS 7 crashes all the time. It doesn't matter if it's an app, the actual phone. iOS 7 crashes. It's unacceptable. Especially for  an Apple product. That's kind of sad. I hate to be saying this but Apple needs to improve the stability with there software and operating systems. It's weird because iOS 6 never crashed. All of the sudden everything crashes.

Is there anything else in iOS 7 that needs improving?

Motorola's Moto G Makes Makes an Early Release Here in the U.S.

We've all seen the commercials for Motorola's new smartphone, the Moto G, maybe you are asking for it as a late Christmas present, considering it comes out in February... Or does it. Yep, that's right, Motorola is now able to pull forward the release date by about three months. How's that for an early Christmas present? The Moto G is the most anticipated smartphone right now, or at least out of the ones we have seen. Because of some crazy unexpected boost in production speed, Motorola will be releasing the new Moto G this Tuesday, December 3rd!
This is smart of Motorola, This is going to be a very big Christmas gift for many people. This looks like a great smartphone. It will be running Android 4.3 by default, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU. It will be an 8 GB standard capacity, however, a 16 GB version will be available. the rear camera will have 5 MP at 4:3 and 3:8 at 16:9. The front camera will have 1.3 MP Don't worry, all these settings will be user configurable. The battery is a rechargeable lithium-ion, 2070 mAh with a battery life of up to 24 hours. The Moto G will also have Bluetooth  Version 4.0 Technology.
Overall, this looks like a great phone. for the full page of specs, click here.

Smartphone Status: Samsung Claiming the Fame?

SO many rumors have been popping from nowhere like gunshots about as much as we heard rumors of Star Wars 7. However, around the same amount of rumors have been dropping like flies. I personally think the big talk is regarding the heated battle between Apple and Samsung. Somehow, HTC has dropped out of the picture. Has Apple been slacking, or is Samsung just pounding Apple into the ground, and does Apple deserve that. All that and more, all in one post.
Lets start with the Samsung Galaxy S5. We know its coming next year by April. The word on the street is that it's coming with 4 Gigabytes of RAM. If so, that's just going to crush Apple. That would make the Galaxy S5 the first smartphone to do so. Samsung has unlocked the key to getting peoples 'attention. Apple seams to be getting peoples' attention, but every time Apple does, Samsung creates a better, smarter device that pretty much makes that once amazing Apple product to look like dust in the dirt.
For example, everybody was amazed when they heard about Apple's newly promised 'iWatch' and what happened because of Apple's lack of modern speed? 'Samsung's Galaxy Gear Smartwatch', that's what. What do you think is taking Apple so long to reach the success that companies like Samsung and LG. Speaking of which, where did LG come from? LG has the 10th best phone on the market, until the crazy sudden appearance if the new LG G2. Which somehow, now claims the top spot on the best-selling smartphone top 10. What?
Remember in like, 2008 when smartphones were at there tip? Apple was in it's glory days? I miss those days. So, does Samsung deserve the fame? Do you think it's crazy forLG to just pop out like that?
